I Have An 01 3500 Ho Cummins I Am Debating Between The Bd Or Pacbreak. Is The Bd Worth The Extra Money For A Little More Braking Power.

I have the same truck as you and have used the Jacob's brake since new (I love the fact that it is ECM controlled). Last I heard it was about $590. Not critisizing the other brands, but the Jacob's brake is the only one that I have NEVER heard of a problem with.

Also, I drive extremely fast on winding mountain roads, city traffic, etc. I still have the OEM brake pads at 86,000-miles.

I've had a Pac Brake and a BD unit installed on the same truck. Both worked well, but the BD offers much more low end retarding power and is much quieter than the Pac Brake.

I would go with neither one. The US Gear de-celerator is the only way to go. Under the truck, out of the way, no problems here is 6 years, and if you want to do any turbo work, do it. The brake is never affected. Why would you want to hang one on the turbo?

Best brake that I have ever used. I have used Pac-brake, Banks, Jake, and now this is the last one...
