Hello,im in the market for a new exhaust,in and around $400. 00 seems to be the range i'd like to spend. I will be pulling a 7000lb trailer and would like to know if a larger diameter pipe and less restrictive muffler will lower EGT's? Will MPG increase or is that just a sales pitch from the larger exhaust manufacturers? Which kit will give the throatiest and deepest tone? As far as decibals go,it wont bother me how loud it is,but i would like it to sound right. Lets hear it... ... ... ... .

My son just bought a Dynomax and put it on his 99. It goes from the resonator back. I think it is all 4". It has a little different tone at idle not much louder but a little. Same for acceration. I think he got it for under 300 but a freind of his has a auto parts store so he sold it to him at his cost. But I don't think they are much over 300. Came with a square tip exhaust tip. He didn't like that so he took my 5" tip and put on it. :{ Very easy to put on. Hardest part was getting the old muffler off.

I put a Rip Rook 4" system from www.sourceautomotive.biz on my truck . A lot of poeple here are running this system it sounds and looks good . I don,t have gauges yet but i can tell you it deffinetly flows better than stock . I have had nothing but good experiences dealing with Rip :D

MBRP Stainless steel from PDR! They are listed on their site as 409 stainless for $475. 00 I just installed one of these systems on a customers truck last weekend. This system is great!

Anyone tried a Warpspeed 4" system? Price seems very good at $279 (free muffler or 5" tip if you use buy-it-now off eBay), 4" mandrel bent, seemed pretty knowledgeable on the phone.

Thoughts???

Any of you who do have the rooks, do you get the dredded drone at 1800 to 2100 rpm? Do you have the muffler on? I like the sound of just the pipes with no muffler but will suffer a muffler to get rid of the drone.

No drone here! Oo.

Be sure to use a full section of pipe right off the down pipe then install the muffler to eliminate any chance of drone. It works! :D

I had the 4" Jannety system and all was great until I got up to 400 HP and was at 17* advance then the drone started and towing it was so loud I couldn't handel it. I added a resonator from Rip and it cured all the drone and I was a happy camper again.

I got a Magnaflow from RIP and a great deal to go with and have enjoyed it completely.

Pop for a little more and you can get a great sounding 4"(true 4" down pipe) stainless steel exhaust that not only will last for the life of your truck, but it will look good doing it. I recommend the Hogg Performance SS exhaust system, it is the only system that incorporates an all stainless kit, Evey nut, hanger, pipe and muffler is high quality stainless steel, and the entire system is polish to a beautiful shine, for a little bling, bling.

rip is the way to go

go with rip! i just did and he and his products are top notch, i couldnt believe how easy the install was, i have a shortbed extra cab and it bolted right up, may be different with longer rigs. my bro just put a cityperfomancemuffler system on his and payed about the same, but was a lot tougher to install. i do have a slight drone, but am running a straight pipe right now and will be installing a 4 inch dynomax racing muffler to fix that.
