I am sure this has been covered but I can't find what I am looking for.

What is the cut off between using a 95 and 150 FASS pump? IS there a HP number?

My truck is mild. Comp, DD2s, exhaust ... ... etc. I do tow heavy. Only future mods would be a different turbo and may be a juice instead of the comp but that is no power change.

If you were me which would you go for?

From what I've seen, the 95 gph is for stock to mild trucks up to 300-350 hp and the 150 gph is for more modifications and 400+ hp. It sounds like you could get by with the smaller pump but may want to go to the bigger one if you do more mods later.

There also seems to be some agreement that a big fuel line kit, if you don't have one already, will help as well.

Ted -

The cam alone is about 750 and you can probably expect about the same amount again for someone to install it. Not sure yet of the additional costs like lines and the pump. The thread I referenced above may have that but I can't recall. Lots of good info there and I like FishinGuide's point - the problem seems to be the/any electric pump. I don't know, I have always wanted a cam anyways so this is a good 'couple birds with one stone' for me...

later

The 95GPH pump is adequate for any HP the VP can make..... The 150 GPH model can have some issues with the OEM fuel tank pickup, so unless you want to modify the fuel pickup I would stay with the 95GPH unit, besides we have made over 800 RWHP using a pump of this size.

But the cam using a mechanical pump is the awsome answer!

Doug - Just saw on the other thread that FG is using a non-dodge mechanical lift pump. What do you recommend? The truck is officially paid for so now it's just a matter of saving a few pennies and coming up your way!

Thanks Doug that was all the info I was needing. Thanks

J, I really like the idea of a mechanical pump so i can stop worrying about the lift pump and I would love to do a cam. Let me know what you find out.

One more question: Are all FASS kits created equal? Do they all come with the same lines, brackets, fittings? Are vendors just reselling kits or creating there own to sell?

All should be them same.

For those who are looking for a mechanical pump and don't want to due the cam option the RASP pricing should be going down as I have just done a big buy-in with a fitting company. So that maybe a good option for a guy.

Stefan,

Thats great news, the RASP is an excellent pump!

The only thing I noticed buying my FASS is that you best check the pressure... I bought a 95gph and had 25psi... they seem to throw whatever spring they have laying around in these during buildup. In the GB, every FASS had different pressure... meaning they all had different springs...

But all the fittings, connections, etc were the same... it was an easy install IMO.
