It's my birthday and I want some gauges and the search feature is broken:mad: I think I want the A pillar triple mount with egt/boost/fuel preasure. I like that the Isspro has the colors on the egt gauge face so that the wife can easily determine how close to overheat we're getting. But I also like the idea of matching up with the dash gauges which leads me toward the Autometer Z series. I realize this has been talked over about a thousand times here but with the search out I don't know what else to do. I like analog gauges and only one function per gauge. So what do you think? What should I buy?

Thanks, AC

AC:

I have the analog "Isspro" Gauges in my 96' Dodge CTD.

They have been in there almost since the truck was new

and I have had NO PROBLEMS with them at all!!

The Isspro gauges are "priced right" and IMO, they work

well!! Isspro also "stands behind" their products as I

recently found out. I had a minor problem with a sending

unit on my fuel pressure gauge. I called "Don" @ Isspro

direct, and he sent me a new (updated) sending unit

FREE OF CHARGE!

I think Autometer also makes a very fine gauge.

Gauges are a "personal preference" thing so you

will have to ultimately decide what is best for you.

Good luck!!

You'll know when you're ready..... it's all personal taste.

I have Di-Pricol egt and boost. Excellent night lighting, except the egt needle isn't lighted. You can still read it, tho. I also like the look/style of these... . kinda retro/older look.

I have the Z series Autometer FP gauge mounted on the steering column. Night vision is crappy, so you may want to ask others if they have night vision complaints with all models.

I like the EV Isspro's, especially the egt. If they had been available when I was buying, I might have gone with them.

good luck... oh, yeah, and happy birthday.

"24V-DSL" is right about the "night lighting" on the

gauges!

I went to a brighter bulb on my boost gauge, however,

all of my other gauges could be read very well at night

with the "standard" bulbs.

I like that setup! I want to do almost the identical thing only with the Isspro EV's. Did you use an isolator on your FP gauge and how difficult was it to get all those lines tucked up into that A pillar? Where did you mount the isolator and do you feel that the isolator/mechanical gauge set up is as accurate as the electrical units?

Thanks, AC

AC,

If you like the Isspros, you may want to wait until September. They are introducing some "new" guages. It is an update to the EV line. It is my understanding that they will offer them with red pointers (like stock Dodge dash) and an electric Fuel Pressure guage.

Just a thought,

Scott

AC... #1. issopro doesn't have "yet" a mechanical fuel pressure gauge. These are dipricol, and they have an issolater mounted in the engine compartment. With 3 gauages , the wiring, and the steel braided line all fit ok in the pillar... In fact I also have a 1/4" drain line in there too from my sun roof!!

The dipricol gauges are very good at nite, anyone who has them will tell you so. If you are looking for a more factory look dipricol also makes a black face gauge and Ken Jones of Diesel Performance of Utah is working on getting Dipricol to make a matching black faced mechanical fuel gauge. The black faced gauges were the first ones made.

My opinion, is the mechanical gauges are better then the electrical, less things to go wrong, very accurate and respond instantly to pressure changes. Each pound of pressure against the isolator=one pound of pressure to the gauge. Much like your boost gauge.

The only other mechanical gauge that I know of with an isolator, is made by autometer, however, the gauge only goes to 0-16PSI.
