I'm interested in installing gauges before I hook up my EZ. I know that EGT, boost and fuel pressure are the ones, but my question is 1/4" or 1/8" NPT, 0-35 boost or 0-50.

My mod plans are to eventually run the EZ along with some bigger injectors and a 4" exaust someday.

For a while, the EZ will be going it alone, shoud I be disabling the wastegate?

Also, do I need to make sure the timing is 15-16 BTDC or does the EZ automatically take care of this for me?

Thanks for dealing with me, I've tried to learn as much as I can about bombing before I start, just trying to adhere to the 7 P's.

Proper prior planning, prevents **** poor performance! I think.

1/4 or 1/8 is your call. No real difference one way or the other.

Get the 0-50 if you only want to do it once. An EZ with DDII's may make more than 35 psi.

Yes. The EZ will come with an elbow that you can use on your turbo since you have an ETH.

Actually, the Engine Control Unit (Engine Computer) takes care of this. You can't manually change the engine timing.

Good idea! It will cost you less to do it right the first time.

The only other advice I can offer is to plan for a clutch upgrade. Your stock one will not hold the EZ along with bigger injectors. Some can run the EZ with 275's and be ok, other's can't. It's all luck of the draw.

Good luck,

Mike

Mike, thanks for your reply so soon. What's the advantage of dissabling the wastegate if I only run the EZ for now?

Does the elbow they included dissable the wastegate or is there some other process?

Dissabling the wastegate gives you more air (boost) which helps lower egt's. This works up to the point that you push the turbo outside it's designed operating parameters. About 32-34 psi is what I have been told is the max that you really want from your stock turbo.

Remove the factory elbow and replace it with the one that comes with the EZ, that's all there is to it.

Let me know if you have any more questions, but I will be off-line until tomorrow morning so I'll have to answer then.
