Alaska Trip

Hello all, I want to replace my factory 5000lbs hitch with a 10,000lbs hitch. Just looking for suggestions on which brand is best.

Thanks in advance, Les

Reese seems to be nicest , highest capacity, and most expensive.

Draw-Tite is cheaper, less capacity.

Putnam cheapest (by far), and has capacity between the Reese and Draw-Tite.

I got the Reese but I need to hit the gym for a few months before I can install it.

Which Hitch??

Six speed,

If you are towing a large trailer (bumper pull I'm assumeing) or if you think you might ever I would get a Reese Titan it is a serious hitch rated at 12500 lbs it also has an extension up to 36 inches with a 10,000 lbs rating. It has a two and a half inch reciever very heavy duty. there is a machine shop buy the Alerwood mall that sells them. They installed mine and did a great job. I forget the name. they are just off 164th going to the mall.

Good luck

Hoss

I just got the XDR from Hitches Online. It is rated 10K WC and 14K WD. Everyone who tows needs to check their stock hitch carefully for cracks. My stock hitch had cracks in it and I was mostly just towing a 3K trailer, and occaisionally a 6K brush chipper. Had to upgrade before my new 8K chipper gets here. :D

Koa Man,

Do you know the part# is it PH25132 ?

Do you know how it compares to the Reese Titan?

Sorry for all the questions but I have never seen either one in person.

Thanks, Les

Six speed, are you just adding a reciever hitch? If so, I have a stock reciever sitting on the shop floor. I just upgraded to a Reese Titan V. You are about 45 min South of me, If you are interested, we could make a deal. I still have the stock bolts and nuts with retainers... .
