I know this topic has been covered alot however maybe someone can answer my concerns. My original intent was to get 275RV's however I see alot of people like DDII's. It seems I've read on here where some people have had rough and erratic idle problems with these. Im looking for something with stock type drivability and idle. Thanks

I installed the DD1's because that is probably as much as my stock transmission would handle at the time. Now I am looking to install DD3's or bigger yet. My friend has DD3's and I have not heard any complaints about idle. Just he needs to be careful on wet pavement.

OOPs I am adding to this because I see you have an Auto trans. If this is stock your EZ box is probably as high as you want to go in the bombing part. Your transmission will have to be upgraded!

I've had a set of Diesel Dynamics stage 1 injectors and their boost module in my truck for approximately 70,000 miles and the truck runs better every day. 29lbs boost and a Max of 1100 degrees pre turbo. Smoke is virtually non- existant even at low boost. 19-20 mpg at 75-80 mph and more at lower speeds. I originally had stage lll's but they smoked to much at low boost. Hope this helps. Sam

Yep, transmission mods will be in order if you add anymore power! Or do like I did add the power then you can say "well honey have to get the truck to the DTT shop, transmission sliipin', don't know why";)

275's = :)

DDII's = :D

It's all up to you.

You will probably need transmission mods, improved airflow and gauges with the DDII's, but not with the 275's.

where to buy the best injecters

Anybody have any comments on where the best place to buy the DD1's would be??? That seems to be the general consensus on the best working towing injecters. I am in the market for a set also. :cool:

Anything more than a 60HP increase (which your EZ is 60HP) and you will need to upgrade the transmission, no if, ands, or buts about it.

Monkfarm,

Alot of guys are haveing good luck towing with Stage II injectors and for $100. 00 over the cost of stage I's there a pretty good deal also.

i have ran bullydog injects80hp,dd sm125 injects,and Quadzilla power 180hp injects. i have been increasingly impressed with all my sets,however as far as smoke to power the qaudpower injects have the title hands down. look up the web site Quadzillapower.com call them and ask for quad tell him what you need and he will hook you up. i truley believe they have the most underated injecs on the market. just my opion nothing wrong with the other guys injects either . i ran high 12s in the 1/4 on diesel only using Quadpower injects

Thank you very much, You guys are great. Im working on making my mind up on which torque converter im going to get but that is a whole different subject:p :p

I'm not sure what you mean about stock type drivability. I was originally thinking about DD2's. But I heard that the DD3's didn't smoke. Well, the DD3's smoke when you put your foot through the floorboard with no boost. Not heavy, but they smoke. If you accelerate smoothly, there is no problem with smoke (but who does that consistently?) Drivability for me means it's easily controllable. The throttle is not touchy, idles excellent, accelerates smoothly either slowly or fast. Drivability is excellent with the DDIII's so the DDII's would be as good, without the same amount of smoke and HP. But if you haven't upgraded the auto, it's recommended to go with either injectors OR the PE box, not both. If your planning on getting the auto upgraded, go for both, even maybe the DDIII’s. I don’t regret going that route.
