Thinking about upgrading my injectors. Currently using stock injectors. Have the Edge EZ box installed, torque converter upgraded and EGT gage. Use truck primarily for towing. Trying to decide between DDIIs and Bosh injectors. Any input appreciated.

DD2's are a much better choice than the Bosch 275's

EZ and DD2's make a great towing combination, been there :)

There is also a new EDM injector on the market and the torque is fantastic.

do your homework ;)

Thanks

I am doing some research on the subject. Not familiar with EDM product. Is there a web site I may view for EDM products ?

Thanks

I went the EDM route. Based on some good things I heard from members who are running them.

Mine are the EDM 1. 5's and are equivalent to the DDII's. More power, no smoke problems, no egts issue and my mileage seems to be up.

Bob's link is where I bought mine through. Good deal and Rip is one heck of a nice to boot. I don't think you can go wrong here.

The EDMs are the ultimate injector. Towing won't get any better than with an EDM 1. 5 or 2. I would personally go with the 2s. The EDM process produces a much more precise, efficient injector. That's why they make so much torque and get good mpg.

PCarlson has a GREAT towing setup.....

I've had great experiences towing with DD2's and an Edge Comp without the 'wire' hooked up- which is the same as the EZ. I just got back from vacation towing my 26 foot travel trailer to Laguna Seca near Carmel and back to Sacramento.

I used just over 1/4 of a tank one way, each way, and averaged over 16. 8 mpg's with this setup. Without a trailer, I get over 20 mpg's. (I got only 13 mpg's max stock)

My EGT's were very low post turbo, about 800 max, usually 600. The only problem I had was that I blew off the lower right turbo hose going up a grade at 32 PSI's. (Embarrassingly just after I smoked past a Ford Powerstroke earlier with hardly any effort at all, only to have him minutes later chug pass me, over on the side of the highway with my hood up and my tools out. You know what he was thinking,. . I know what I'd be thinking :( )I put it back on and, guess what?, Found ALL my clamps loose! :p

Anyway, I highly recommend DD2's with the EZ.

PS: I haven't re-connected the Comp 'wire' to my VP44 because the last VP44 went 'kaput' not long after I did, and it cost me about a grand. But it sure went like a bat out of... , in fact, it would lay rubber as long as I floored it, and never quit until I let up. I just spent over $700 on the cheapest set of tires I could find, and so another reason I'm not going to hook up the 'wire' again :)

I also am looking at injectors for more towing power. Would EDM mach 1. 5 or mach 2, and a boost fooler be a good combo? Would it be better than a EZ?

My current setup is: 2001 H. O. , EZ, 275's, BHAF and straight pipe. This setup will really pull so I know the DDII's or the EDM's will pull if you can keep your EGT's down. I run out of EGT's before I run out of power. I have no problem hitting 1150 in the rolling hills of Texas when pulling hard, I can only imagine how the mountains would be. I have been considering going to the Mach 2's just for fun. I don't need the power but it sure would be fun if it was usable power. :) My next investment will be 4" straight exhaust from the turbo back. Hopefully that will give me a slight drop in temps so I can stay in it longer on the hills.

I have been very pleased with my EZ and DD2 combo. Very strong, little smoke, controllable EGTs. know Rusty JC is also very pleased with the combo, but he had to put in a clutch to run it. My stock ETH clutch is holding on-- so far, so good.
