best CB for the money?

TomTom GPS

I have a Lance cab-over camper, 11'-3" Legend. When I ordered the camper I wanted the Onan, but with that size camper they said that it had to have the larger size generator, which was the 3. 4 Generac. While under warranty the Generac froze and the entire unit was replaced with a new Generac. It is long out of warranty and I continue to have minor problems with it, which I have been able to fix myself. Does Honda make an RV generator?

Note that the generators shown at the above link are not the quiet inverter style generators like the protable EU series. Why Honda doesn't make an RV version of the EU3000 is beyond me. They would clean up on that portion of the generator market.

If you have the space to carry a portable unit such as the Honda or Yamaha I would do that before getting another Generac or Onan or spending money to keep the Generac running. The Honda and Yamaha inverter style generators are light years ahead of the Onan and Generac in every way, one of the biggest is they are significantly quieter.

I've got 2 of the eu2000 honda generators.

Quiet, sip gas, can't complain.

Klenger, I agree they should make a version of the eu's that are rv installable. I've seen several people put them in truck boxes etc but they aren't really made for that.

A friend installed a new 8,000 BTU a/c on his truck camper. It will run on a single Honda EU2000 (which the 13,000 BTU a/c units will not).

If your a/c is the 13,000 then downsizing may expand your generator options.

8,000 is plenty for a truck camper.

Camping world is advertising a variable speed electronic Generac...

For my money I would go for the Honda RV generator first, Onan second.

Honda portables are nice, but no remote start and hard to find space to store in a truck camper.

I have the 3. 4 Generac in my camper. With less than 100 hrs. the starter went out , out of warranty. $600 to replace. Also would smoke out a camp ground on start up for afew minutes after startup. Tech gave me a can of stuff to spray into intake for a number of startups to break up carbon. Said if that didn't help would need a rebuild. Thanks Generac.

Thanks everyone, looks like Honda is the way to go. What I haven't figured out yet is can they be made to run on propane like my Generac?
