I finally got my Carli ball joints so I'm getting ready to do the DynaTrac/BJ thing. I am thinking of a selectable locker while I have the front apart. I was gonna get the Eaton E-locker but I've been reading that it really takes quite a bit of modification to get the GM 9. 25 locker to fit the Dodge. Don't really want to do that. So what about the ARB unit. I have air already. Anybody with install experience? Are there other options?

I just had the E-locker installed in my '06. My mechanic did have to do some grinding to get it to fit, I'm not sure how much or where.

But it is in and works, so far I just test drove it.

Had the Tru Track put in the rear at the same time.

Need to play with it some more to comment on performance.

I had the E-Locker put in my '03 and there was a small amount of grinding required. As MBloch said, "It works. " I'm waiting and hoping an E-Locker will be available for the rear before I wear out my truck.

I was reading on another forum that some guy had to grind so much it went thru. Had to put a patch on the outside. I'm not going there. So I guess the ARB is the only selectable locker may for this pumpkin.

I would like to read about this. Link?

I have ARB Lockers front and rear on two of my trucks, but not my 03 Ram. The ARB installed with no problems whatsoever. Following their install manual made it almost plug and play. I am very pleased with ARB's

There is a thread here on TDR that has photos and opinions on the ARB locker.

IIRC, he had only good things to say about them.

They were nice pics, too, but now I can't find the thread... #@$%!

I have the ARBs on both ends of an 05 CTD. One of the best upgrades I have ever made. No pictures of the front, but some of the rear in my truck pics. Also have picture of dash mount ARB switches

Hey BigRed, I thought that it was you who posted the pics and write-up on TDR, but couldn't find the thread... I though that you had done an excellent job of the install... can you post the link to the thread here so others can sse it. Oo. TIA

I considered the air locker but had concerns about compressed air and long periods of non use causing condensation and freezing in extended periods of sub zero temperatures.

Maybe we can get some feedback from ARB users from cold climates.

But in my case 'E' seemed more reliable in extreme cold than 'air'.

Some grinding on the pumpkin might be preferable to thawing out a 1/4" tube in -20.

But who knows, maybe the elocker will stick too.
