My first choice for filters would be Fleetguard (Cummins Filters), then Mopar from your local Dodge dealer.

As for oil, well... ... . I'm leaning towards Delo 400 (Mobil) or Delvac 1300 (Chevron?). A tech at Cummins Great Plains/Omaha ,NE. recommended NOT using Shell Rotella T, because of foaming problems.

Oops... . guess you didn't ask about oil, sorry!

Genos has some good prices and I have purchased from them also, but if you have a Cummins authorized dealership close by, you may check with them on the Fleetguard filters. I have a place less than a mile from my work and have found the Fleetguard filters there a little cheaper than Genos without having to wait for shipping and add cost to ship. Otherwise I would probably still be purchasing from Genos.

As far as oil I use the Delo 400 15w/40, but would not be afraid of the other brands Rotella T, Delvac, etc. A guy at my work uses the Rotella T on his 02 CTD, he ask me about what oil brand I use, and I said Delo, he said I was going to use Delo, but this guy told me it's bad about foaming so I went with the Rotella T. :-laf

anyone have the Fleetgaurd number for the oil filter. I found the fuel filter easy enough at the local Cummins dealer, but had a heck of a time with the parts guy trying to find the correct oil filter. Thanks

Heck, I don't even drive a Cummimns (YET!!) and I know the answer to that question: Fleetguard.

I bought enough Fleetguard Oil and Air Filters for 150,000 miles on my '00 Ford (see sig) when it was new and that's all that's ever been in it... . along with Rotella 14w-40.

I would have bought Fleetguard fuel filters, but could not find them at the time.

When I get the first oil change on my Cummins, it will have a Fleetguard Stratapore installed in it and that's all that will EVER go on it. That Cummins has to last me until the 2012 models come out (Can you say EPA??), so it will be a quarter of a million miles or so on the clock before I even consider a new one.

Fleetguard Stratapore (their best IMO) # LF16035 (year 03-05). Fleetguard Standard #LF3972 (year 03-05).

Amsoil is mentioned frequently in these pages. I do not have any experience with Amsoil but, I have run the Redline in my vehicles for years and have been pleased with the performance and the product. Either one probably represents top of the line snythetic oil.

Genos garage for the filters. 4/2 (no air filter due to the PG7).

Oil is Mobil 1 10-40 Synthetic.

I used Delo 400 for almost five years in my 2001 and now use it in my 2005. I have never had any "foaming" or any other problems with it... ;)
