I have called the dealer, they say part number 4874465, Mopar trans axle fluid.

The shop says his book says 75W90 syn gear oil (what is in it now)

Another post here says use mopar #4761526

Another post say use mopar # 4874464 which I think is NV3500

and another Dealer says Use NVT 350 Fluid.

I need to get this truck out of the shop,

Paul,

You need Mopar #4761526/Texaco 1874 MTX for your NV5600.

That's what the dealer who rebuilt my transmission put in, and it's what the sticker on the PTO cover says.

Here is a confirmation link for you:

Ram NV5600 specs

If the scheister shop you have your truck at now tells you any different, have your truck towed to a dealer and take these idiots to small claims court.

Ok, but my local Dodge Dealer is the one saying the truck take "normal Mopar Manual TRANSAXLE fluid (which I do know is either 5W30 or 10W30 )

But ANOTHER call to the Dealer, Looked up part number, 4761526 and it crossed to the 4874464... . but they still say it takes the 4874465 (the transaxle fluid)

So they have to order that oil in.....

Then find another Dodge dealer... . Not trying to be a butt, but I don't know what else to tell you. Did you click on the link I posted? If you read the *, it says that people on the TDR have had success with Amsoil Series 3000 5W30.

I wouldn't use gear lube

The NV5600 (six speed transmission) needs 5W30 HOWEVER, there are many posts about how the Mopar 5w30 is crap and other synchromesh fluids like Penzoil, Texaco and Amsoil work much better and prevent grinding in 3rd. The 4500 and 5600 have different style synchros so the heavyweight oil is not a good idea as it will make the 5600 hard to shift among other things. IMHO get a second(or third) opinion from somewhere else, be it a transmission shop or something, since your dealer has a whack job on the phone who has decided not to take the time. Just ask them what fluid you put in an NV5600 since it will be the same across the board... that way they don't get confused by the truck and year bla, bla, bla. I use Amsoil MTF since it is designed specific for the NV5600 but I have to order it. The best oil for your transmission is a-whole-nother long long thread of opinions but I haven't heard of anyone who uses gear lube for long.
