How hard is it to swap a stock HY35 to a Piers HX40?

The time has come to put some more money into my truck. As the weather has been warming, I have noticed my EGT are higher at idle. I'm getting sick of waiting for the turbo to cool to 300, so I'm thinking on an aFe or 4" exhaust. Which will decrease EGTs the most? Eventually I hope to have both, but right now I'm limited on cash.

Remove the plastic duct that goes from the air box to the inner fender. Your air filter guage probably won't move anymore.

definitely the 4" exhaust, I noticed by your sig. you have the BHAF, afe won't do anything, I have it on mine. I had the 4" exhaust and could get egts below 300 pretty fast, when I removed and went to original 3" down pipe it's hanging over 300 and takes forever for it to come down. I'll be going back to 4" soon.

ah yes!

I did not notice that u had a BHAF

then you might as well keep it and get the 4",

then,

buy a cold air system for even better egt's
