Which P Pump gets the best fuel mileage?

Pumps I've had had the following mileage:

'95 175 pump = 19 mpg in town and 21-22 hwy

'97 215 pump = 18. 5 mpg in town and 20-21 hwy

'97 180 pump = 17. 4 mpg in town and 19-19. 5 hwy

The 175 pump had the best for me.

The smaller HP pump, the smaller barrels and plungers it uses, the smaller barrels and plungers, the less fuel the engine consumes...

All the pumps use the same size plungers, and the 175hp(841) is the same as the 160hp(838). The largest factor is your driving style and the way the pump is setup to fuel at low-boost conditions.

I've had an 887 and a 913(both 215 pumps). Mileage is about the same. 18-19 combined, 20-21 highway, 15-16 towing. I agree that it is the right foot that decides. Turbo's make a difference also. Seems like large singles cause more fuel consumption in city driving.

right foot could have something to do with it. I have driven my different trucks the same and have gotten different mileage results. Was wandering if any one else has notice any milage simularites with different pumps.

Also, I've never noticed any mileage changes when I put power modifications on the truck. what ever the mileage I had when I bought it was the same after I put the power mods on.

My mileage has not changed at all with the mods that I have done. Did plate and gsk at same time and then did 191's later. None of them made a difference. However, when I advanced my timing to 17. 5*, I lost a good 1-2 mpg in town. Still have not gootten a good highway trip to see that mileage yet, but I get on average in-town and hwy combo of maybe 13 or 14. I have seen 19 on highway before.
