Before you do any mods install an egt gauge at the least. Here in the NM triangle egt's can get out of hand with a stock truck. I toasted an engine ( stock and a VA box, about the same as an EZ but no boost module ) the first 8 miles with the 5th wheel. I installed an egt and found that stock I was at 1200* and with the VA I hit 1300 and still climbing when I backed out. I hve since made mod's based on egt to find what works here. On a trip to Canada I found that egt's were 1250*+ in NM adn in sw Co. they dropped to 1100 and by the time I was in Idaho and Or. they maxed at 1000, in WA. max was 950. The reverse was true returning. Acceptable EGT's in one part of the country with a particular modification can be a death sentence in another.
The EZ is a good box but my experience has been that injectors will give an equal power increase with lower egt's. DD1's and a boost module will give about the same performance as an EZ with lower egt. Do you want to add fuel for power or override a computer for power????
