OK, what have you guys found to be the best all-a-round shock for a 2001 short box that also pulls a 29ft fiver some of the time. I currently have the original factory shocks at 112k.

Anything other than the 112k stockers you presently have - Sorry, couldn't resist. I bought my 99 in 5/01 w/75k, it had Monroe's on it then. @ about 140k I went to the Bilstiens (yellow/blue boots) very pleased with them. Not too harsh, not too soft. MHO

On my 96' I ran Rancho 9000's. Rancho's are a 9 position adjustable shock. Position 9 being the roughest ride 1 being the softest ride. On my 96' the stock shocks were about equivalent to an 8 (rough ride). When empty I ran the shocks at 3 all around. Depending on the load I typically ran the rear at 9, the front at 7. A friend with a 24v is also happy with his Rancho's.

Cheapest price I could find was www.samsoffroad.com

Mine had 100k on it when I installed the Bilsteins, so the difference was amazing. However, the control and ride quality have continued to impress me ever since. Highly recommend here.

I like my Rancho 9000s for the adjustability. Fronts stay on 3. Backs are on 1 empty and go to 9 when the 5er is on. I can really tell the difference if I forget to reset them after dropping the trailer.
