Lance 1121, any opinions?

Hey,

Going to Florida Next January in my 36' 5th ... ... Which states from Utah to there are bad for troopers to give a hard time for being pretty heavy?

I am at 23K total I have good tires(19. 5" "F") and the trailer is a 3 axle.....

I am planning on doing a southern route down to New Mexico, then down through texas toward Louisiana and then to florida... . Any of these states bad?

We've been through them all you list hauling large cab over campers and towing big 5th wheels. No problems at all.

You will have more problems with the traffic and rough interstate highways! :eek:

I've heard rumors that AL was going to start cracking down , but I haven't seen any evidence of it. As a matter of fact they don't have nearly enough Troopers to cover the highways, so I doubt that they will waste any time harrassing RVers. Unless they are doing something really DUMB !

I assume that you'll be traveling I-10, if so you won't be in AL long.

Also, I've heard from friends that make the trip from TX frequently that I-10 through LA is pretty rough, bouncy,bouncy,bouncy... ... ...

La has main lane scales that pick trucks to come into scale house. I don't think you will have any issue when you go through scale house just be aware and watch for the direction signs.

As a Private RV, I don't have to go into scales... so other than that, I guess everything is OK, ... . thanks guys

Yep, I've been towing/hauling my personal RVs for over 35 years and haven't had to cross the DOT scales... yet. :D

Eric;

just be a law bidding citizen and they won't bother you. Some states have there Hiway troopers sit on the over passes and radar the vehicles as they go passed, SPEED trap!!!!! I was impressed with the Texas Hiways, they were some of the best I have been on. And yes there are a lot of bummmmpppyy ones down there. I done the Florida thing last April, 05. If I can help any further give me holler.

Marv.
