I'm just about to install new Mag-Hytec Double Deep transmission Pan & Rear Diff Cover. I'm looking for advice on which fluids to use when I do this. I've seen reference to TDR #34, but I just joined last week and haven't received any issues yet. Your recommendations are always appreciated. Also, I live in So. Cal. and the name of a local shop to purchase them at would be helpful.

I just installed the DD transmission pan. Installation was easy but messy. Since I'm only 15K and still under warranty, I went with the Mopar ATF4 (3 gallons at $33. 00/gal). Old fluid was fine. I didn't drain the TC. Buy the 727 filter (open) vice the metal enclosed one as recommended by Mag-Hytec.

Do you plan to install a transmission temp guage? If yes, consider a new pump output line with a sensor port during your install (line for a 94/95 truck). Bill K and several others advocate this is the best place to install the temp probe as it monitors temps right out of the pump (TC). Mopar PN: 5011244AA. You'll also need to replace the intercooler fitting where the pump line runs to. It has a check valve in the fitting. The new line has that check valve so the intercooler fitting needs to be replaced. That Mopar PN is 0118752.

I'm quite surprised at how cool the transmission runs. Less than 140* so far. I've not towed with it yet or done much in town driving. It will climb to about 175 at idle (in just a few minutes). Thought the guage wasn't working.

Sorry for the long post. Just thought you'ld like the input. BF
