Ford Conversion

Getting ready to put a 12V into a '99 F350. I am really leaning towards using an automatic being built by one of the big 3 builders. Anyway if I go auto which one, the 47R or the 4r100?? If I go 4r100 then I need an adapter plate, transmission control, and a speical TQ convertor. If I use the 47R what or how do I control the 47R?? If I go this route then all I need is a Tcase and no adapter plate. Whatcha think?? The F350 is a gasser so either way I will have to by a new transmission because there is no adapter for the V10 bellhousing.

Thanks,

Chad

If you use a Dodge 47RH, [94-95 Dodge] you'll only need to put in two switches. one to turn the O/D on & off and the other for lockup. You could wire the lockup switch thru a hobbs pressure switch, that way if you forget to disengage lockup, once it gets below a set psi, it'll break the signal to the lockup clutch and disengage it, downside is when you take of, if you still haven't flipped the switch, it'll engage lockup again.
