Which Transmission Line is Hottest?

6 spd auto. I'm still trying to choose where to put my transmission temperature sensor. I'm leaning towards cutting a cooling line and installing a CRES swageloc fitting. Which line is the hottest? If I look up at where the lines enter or exit the transmission one is higher than the other. It the upper or lower line hotter?

Upper goes to the cooler, lower is the return.

I do not know, but one of the recent additions to my tool box is a handheld digital infrared thermometer. It is slick for troubleshooting AC, cooling systems, tire and hub heat, kinda a must add to tool box item.
