I had my '97 transmission rebuilt (DTT), 3K GSK, AFC springs, #6 fuel plate, and timing adjusted (16 degrees) for pulling a 10K 5er. My EGTs are high (1200 pulling up hill), and my fuel mileage went down with these changes. I would like to get more HP since I just got a 12. 5K 5er, plus I need to lower my EGTs.

I plan to do a 4 inch exhaust and add a turbo. Should I consider something like the Dodgzilla, a HX40, or a b1 turbo? Any other mods for towing a heavy trailer? Appreciate your thoughts.

Well you may want to try a different housing on the stocker first? You can get a 14 wastegated housing... . Just an idea, but you also want to take into consideration what you may be doing in the future as well. Dont wrap money into a turbo you are going to turn around and have to swap for something else later. The stockers are stout little turbos and they give you pretty good low rpm boost. jmo

My truck ran a hx-40 on it and it got eaten alive. The 35's actually held up better for my pickup until I went to the USB1 and now twins. There are a ton of B-1 variations but they are sorta spendy and a lot of them arent wastegated and you need to figure that into the costs.

I hope that helps a little I know someone with some smarts will line you out here quick like. ;)

You can also convert your stocker into a hybrid with High Tech Turbo kit. Cheaper than a new turbo & should work good for you as long as you aren't going to add a lot more fuel. Also, how much boost are you running? Try running about 34-35 psi at full boost to see if that helps.

High Tech Turbo kit???

I am running a max of about 28 on my boost. I have not heard of the High Tech Turbo kit you mentioned. Can you provide details for me? Thanks.
