Would a stainless cat-delete pipe or a muffler elimination (ME) kit from Geno’s Garage be better??? I want to up performance and sound. Louder the better. Any help would be great.

Mine is just straight piped and it is loud as could be, almost too loud for me sometimes, I bought it that way. It really rips when I am getting on it hard or when cruising down the interstate and you hit a hill or get on it to pass a vehicle. Just my $. 02 on this. Hope it will help you out. Best of luck!!!!!

Keep the cat!!

Leave the cat, ditch the muffler. If you do remove the cat be sure to keep it because they are expensive to replace. A straight pipe, no cat or muffler is too loud but leaving the cat makes is fairly tolerable. The muffler is the restriction and not the cat. Just my 2 cents.

What If I get the Cat-Delete and the Muffler delete will that be good??? I cant back out of the cat-delete(buying off a nother club member. ) and I want the best performence for my truck.

Some pointers

05Ram3500, If the louder sound is what your looking for, by all means go for it. The stock muffler is the restriction. They say the cat doesn't cause much loss. One point - if you do the install yourself be aware that the factory clamps are so tight they have deformed the pipes so much it's almost like a mechanical crimp. Most folks have been cutting the outer slipover portion of the connection joints to get the darn things apart. I ended up slitting the outer slipover pipe about half way around before I was able to pull the sections apart. Once it's apart I cut the crimped portion off the outer slipover pipe off then used 4 inch stainless band clamps from Summit racing. If you use these clamps you can take the system apart much easier if you want to change again. Hope this helps.

I get confused, some people say cat is restricted + some say muffler. Have you seen heard one with a cat removed and stock muffler inplace? THX

I have only removed the cat and the gain in sound is only noticeable if you know what it is supposed to sound like. You do get a little more turbo out of the tail pipe though. Keep in mind, it is just a little difference. I am gonna get the muffler elim. pipe this summer. I also want a more throaty sound.

I guess it is technically called a "Cat Test Pipe" and is for "off road use". It is a straight piece of pipe that replaces your cat. From what I understand, any tampering w/ a cat is um... . not legal. Of course, you are not a criminal until you get caught. :-laf (depending on your point of view of course)
