I guess my wife and I are in the population "demographic" that is considered in the "evil" neighborhood.
For those of you who are in the "less evil" or "not evil at all" categories, but on way "up", here's a "whine" that you might encounter.
YOUR DEDUCTIONS GET DISCOUNTED, EVEN DOWN TO (CONCEIVABLY) A "ZERO" LEVEL. (we had the typical deductions, (mortgage, standard personal, etc, and also a buttload of expense losses on our rental place. . added up to about $20K. ) Only about 5K was actually used, due to what I have begun to call Democrat math. I guess we simply don't deserve to use a whole deduction that another can utilize. WHOSE DECISION WAS THAT?
It's kinda nice to have this particular disappointment, but, still, where is the borderline between "fair share" and governmental oppression? I keep thinking that the IRS has crossed the line with those of us in the higher levels. Maybe "Dubya's" tax proposals will address this issue, even though we're not numerous enough to ever make a significant difference on election day, one way or the other.
I wouldn't complain too much, except that it's cramping my BOMBing plans. That, I think, constitutes oppression.
