My truck developed a whining/ whirring noise,It occures between 1900 and 2100 rpm, not always constant, seems to happen more when the boost is around 10 psi, I dont think it is a boost leak because if you go full throttle it goes away and I can still see 30 to 31 psi on the boost gauge. When it is making this noise I can change the pitch or tone of the noise by slightly adjusting the throttle pedal. I did the search and found the issue with the heater hose orifice for the 98-99 trucks, would my early 2001 have the faulty orifice in it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would be willing to bet... this is it.

boost noise

Have you had your band clamps off on your after-cooler hoses lately? My noise was corrected by removing the band clamps to the intake manifold. . wiping the mating surfaces out and reapplying the band clamps.
