The other day while replacing my air filter, I noticed a white film on the inside of the air intake hose, the one between the filter and turbo. What the hell? It does'nt wipe off real easy and it's not loose. Any idea's? Is it bad?

By any chance you have an aftermarket K&N style filter? If put back in wet after washing the filter oil/water combo will form that "Lithium grease" Look.

I have noticed a "white residue" on (and in) a lot of new rubber hoses, including the intake hose on my truck, coolant hoses, etc. quite sure its normal.

I figure it is the Zinc Oxide (a white powder) that is used as an activator in vulcanising, and is a common ingredient of rubber tires, hoses etc.

Keep in mind I may to totally wrong but at least it makes me feel better knowing that it did not slip past my filter... ;)

OOOOhhhh thaaaat stuff. Kinda like the white silicate / talc coating. THAT is from the rubber yes indeed. I read it too quick and was thinking other intake piping which the same holds true. My bad :(
