Hello from Texel, The Netherlands. (On Holiday from Germany)

I have spent about 2 hours searching the forum posts, and since most of the posts are 1: Rather old and 2. Do not address my issue, I thought it would be better to make a new post.

Info: Truck has almost 200K (miles) on the original engine;
DAP Stage 1 injectors installed at ca. 140K (Miles) Valves adjusted too.
Air Dog Lift pump with 20 PSI Idle, never under 15 PSI under load
Previous owner replaced the VP at around 100K: This is my worry...
Outside air temp ca. 45 degrees
No codes

OK, so on the way here (Texel) pulling our 25` Camper (As seen on the back page of the 20118 calendar) I noticed that when accelerating in traffic (from about 55 to 65), there was a rather thick cloud of grey/white smoke coming from the exhaust. When not under load there is no smoke. I have also noticed that fuel consumption has increased.

As I noted above, the PO replaced the VP, and I am certain it is an off the shelf from Pep-Boys or Autozone. Never thought the truck had all the power it should, and suspect he either did not use the correct timing key, or used the one from the old pump.

I am wondering if I should be ordering a new pump from Blue Chip to be safe. This truck is my bread and butter as well what we use to pull the camper when we go on Holiday.

Any advice /insight would be greatly appreciated.

Jonathan.
