just installed 370s. My truck sounds like it's "loping" when it idles and when i rev it, it blows white smoke on top of the black smoke. is this normal or is something off?

i haven't yet installed my 191 dvs. Also i bled my injector lines.

I'm sure this subject has been beat to death, so i apologize.

Well find out where its at. But 15 to 16 seams to be a good spot. Good low end and top end power.

Mine is at 19. All sorts of top end power. Low end not so hot.

May try adjusting gov springs. May or may not change. If you have a 215 pump you shouldn't need delivery valves for running wierd.

If you haven't done it yet, take the front gear cover off and either Tab or Peen the KDP. then use this time ot set the timing to 15-16*, it is easier to clean the pump shaft and gear mating surfaces when you have the cover off and the fan out of the way. You do have timing tools and at least watched setting the P-pump timing before right??

If not it is money well spent to find someone with the timing guage and tools, read up on it.

I recommend :

KDP

Timing to 16*

GSK

Fuel plate moved forward or upgraded

Then injectors

and maybe DV's

This progression of modifications allows you to tune each modification and

feel and drive with the new pump characteristics. Then if one item makes drivability poor you can reverse and re-think what to do.

Just my opinion, and experience on the matter.
