My son has a 03 HO with a 48RE. He has an EZ set on #3. Over the weekend he was passing someone at WOT and the truck stumpled and nearly dies, lost power and now at WOT blows White Smoke. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Runs fine if he doesn't floor it. Only does it when he floors it.

Try disconnecting the EZ and see what it does.

White smoke is unburned fuel. You may have a faulty injector. Eliminate the EZ before checking the injectors.

Alan,

He was suppose to do that last night. Haven't heard back from him yet. He lives in Missoula and I'm near Spokane. I will let you know how that goes.

Sounds like an injector or 3

Probably an injector sticking. I had a Ford pull out in front of me coming back from lunch today (in the rain). I figured he wanted me to hit that POS because it was pouring white smoke. When he stopped at a traffic light it was smoking like it had several injectors stuck. I'd hate to pull the exhaust manifold on that bad boy to try to figure out what all was stuck.

Back to the Ram, make sure to check the oil to see if there is diesel getting in the oil.
