white smoke on start up

my younger brother has a ford and is away from home he said that when he starts it up he has white smoke untill the truck is warmed up thanks mike

Could be a leaky injector(s) that pools fuel in the cylinder(s) that causes white smoke till it burns off.



When I had a bad/leaky No. 5 injector it caused white smoke for 40-60 seconds on a cold start.

Coolant can also cause white smoke. Is he using water? Even slowly?

We had the problem several years ago. I added Redline Diesel Fuel Catalyst, and the problem went away after a few days.



It can't hurt anything and is an inexpensive first shot.

head gasket is gone truck was chiped and ford said fix it yourself!!!!!!
