Noise from Engine area

Hello all, two weeks ago I bought a 2006 5.9l that has 85k miles.
This morning I left home and turned onto my main road 3 miles from my house and that's when the truck started rattling and blowing a lot of white smoke. Then it died and wont even try to turn over. I need help ASAP. I haven't even made the first payment and I cant afford a truck to be just sitting.
Thank you all.
Also I dont have a code reader so I'm not sure what codes it is going to pull. My diesel mechanic will be bringing his by tomorrow after work.

White smoke is usually from unburnt fuel, and that with a lack of starting makes me think you lost an injector.

Hopefully your mechanic can shed some more light on the issue.

My worry is, is that it's not even wanting to crank at all. My buddy checked the oil and found some sediment in it and says he is worried about the block. Is there a way that it locked the motor up somehow? Once it started rattling and blowing smoke I immediately pulled off the road and that's when it died.
Is there anyway that the dealer can do anything even though it was sold as-is?

Not wanting to turn over?

The injector could have dumped enough fuel to hydro l-lock the block too...

Thank you. Im stressed the hell out at the moment over this. I'm super worried about internal damage.
Im going to talk with the dealer tomorrow. Only problem is, is the dealer is in dallas and I'm in okc. Thank you for the reply

Or just wait 24h, the fuel will drain through the rings down to the sump.
Then turn over the Engine by hand with a barring tool or at the Alternator.

Put a socket on the alternator and see if it will turn over. If it doesn't have the over running clutch on it you should be bale to turn the engine over going one way. If it doesn't turn over and there is no clutch on the alternator then the engine is either seized or hydro locked. If it turns over by hand the starter has given up. The white smoke and rattling is an injector hung open, first thing to try is a cleaning and heavy dose of cleaner and lube in the tank to see if it will clear.
