White smoke

A guy at work is looking at an 03 dually, he went and drove the truck but said the truck had a white haze at start-up and while driving down the road. Dealer told him it was condensation in the exhaust. I didn't buy that, i was worried about coolant leak, dealer said it could be bad injector. Truck has 166,000 miles, what do you guys think?Randy

its not likely a coolant leak, my guess is injectors are bad and should be replaced, they are dumping in to much fuelat the wrong time, making for the white smoke which is raw fuel ( unburnt fuel). i have seen it many times. good luck Oo.

Definitely injector problem. Don't buy it until they fix it. STAR will fight him all the way on replacing them and usually one at a time. Sucks.

Thanks for the replys, okay if he were to go ahead and buy this truck what is he looking at to replace injectors himself?Better off going with stock replacement or will new tips solve this? Thanks,Randy

I've seen them on e-bay for $600 to $800, only you can't be sure they are ALL good. New they are about $3500. I don't know if just tips will resolve the problem. Perhaps someone else will chime in.
