2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission white wire/ black stripe?????????

This afternoo I've been trying to figure out why my trailer brakes are not working and why I don't have lights on the trailer either... ... ..... Anyway I decided while I was at it to try to figure out why the parking brake light does not work . I hate it when I drive to town with the brake on and don't realize it till I smell it. I found the switch has no wire on it. I also found a clipped wire close by no plug or anything , white with a black stripe. Could this be the wire that is supposed to be connected to the park light switch?

My park lt switch wire is white with a black stripe, but if you want to double check you can set your brake, turn on the key and have someone watch the light while you touch it to the park brake terminal.
