Well, I'm not one to air any dirty laundry, but since you guys brought that situation up, I feel it is necessary to give our side of the equation. Again, I don't have any hard feelings against either of you guys, but I don't think it's fair for you to come on here and give your side after 1 other post and think that we won't respond with the full story.
First, Jim - I don't remember any conversation with you at all about problems with your truck. If you recall, you came in with a Dr. P Phase 2 kit and your 2001 truck made 203. 6hp. Thats less than our stock 2001. 5 trucks made stock, and we told you that. At the end of that day (5/18/01) you left with one of our True Torque boxes and your truck made 265. 7hp.
On 8/24/01) you came back for more power. We upgraded you to our Stage 2 injectors, an Ultimate Powe Module and our HX-40. Your truck left at 393. 5 and we suspected you had one of the few trucks with a weak ECM program from the factory. It took us almost a full day of playing around and swapping parts from our own truck onto yours to come to this conclusion, and to give you an idea of where to go... although we did not charge you for any of this troubleshooting. On 2/1/02, you came back with a freshly reprogrammed ECM and made 417. 2 hp with the same setup. At May Madness 2002, you dynoed 414. 2hp.
After all that, I don't remember you having any problems with your truck. I do seem to remember you saying you were buying a 2002 truck, but from your story eludes my memory. I do see what we sold you a set of Stage 2 injectors in September of 2002 though. I assume they were for the new truck you spoke of. Tell you what, if there was a problem that is unresolved with them, you can send them and we will test them for you. As with all of our customers, we will repair or replace them if there is anything wrong with them.
To address Alan (Walcott), you have a green 12v truck. You came in with one of Piers' pumps on your truck 252. 8hp on 8/23/01. I remember this because you asked us if we would ship your core pump back to PDR for you. You complained of uncontrollable EGT's and wanted more power. We added delivery vavles, set the timing, added our Stage 2 injectors and installed our camplate kit. Your truck left that day at 301. 6hp.
You called at some point and said your truck was jerking and shuddering, so we made an appointment for you on the Wednesday of May Madness 2002 at 8am, as our dyno sessions were to start at noon. You arrived at approximately 11am and we told you that we did not have time before the dyno event started to look at your truck. You were upset and disappointed, but you had an 8am appointment and missed it. Had we not had people standing around to get dynoed, we would not have turned you away. I believe that later that week, Lawrence did look at your truck and determined that the internals (rack) were worn and needed replacement. This is why your truck shudders as the rack is moving around inside the pump on it's own accord. You said you believe the problem was from our injectors, to which we replied that the problem most certainly was there all along, but when you add bigger injectors, any small problem with the injector pump will be greatly amplified and much more noticeable.
That was as far as our conversation went to the best of my recollection. I believe you said you were going to buy a pump from Piers because he was cheaper than us, which is your right.
If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to PM me. I did PM you Jim, but you did not respond.
