Customer Service

After having a bad experience I decided to investigate ATS Diesel in Denver, much to my surprise it was a very positive experience. I dropped in unannounced while in Denver. Clint greeted and introduced himself and asked what he could do for me. I told him that I was a member of TDR at which point he invited my fiance and I to preview the triple turbos he was installing on his 12v.

(WOW!!!) What a work of art, after this he asked me if I would like to take a tour of his shop. This was a very impressive to watch the manufacturing process of converters and transmissions. It blew me away how much they put into manufacturing their converters. I'm sold.

Clint was gracious enough to explain each process in detail this showed me that he did not have anything to hide. Keep in mind I did not go to buy or purchase any of his products. I just wanted to see there method of operation and customer service. As we walked out the door my fiance told me thats the kind of shop you should do business with. I agreed and will be doing business with them in the future.

Clint, thank you again for the tour and will see you at May Madness

ATS sounds like they are a great shop. I will also say this that cutting injectors is not rocket science the technology is out there for anyone to exploit. ATS what kind of quality assurance do you have as far a checking the injectors before they go out the door? what kind of warranty do you have? i am looking at injectors and i might be looking the ATS way now. we will see. I have not heard one bad comment about these guys. I called and talked to clint on the phone about year ago, talk about helpful and knowledgeable. just to keep this thing fair Bill K is the same way. I am glad i don't have to choose b/t ATS or DTT b/c it is a draw.

As far as DD and ATS injectors i am still making my mind up. Customer service is so important to me b/c is am in La. which a long way from any of these shops. I have faith that Peter at Southbend will take care of me from other stories i have read. I also know that edge will be the same way. but as far a my injectors i want to find someone in the same category as DTT,Southbend,ATS for injectors.

I dont have any experience with DD other than KLocklier posts alot of good info on this site and seems to be very professional and helpful. If i have a good or bad injector experience you bet you guys will hear about it and it will be an honest report!

Seems to me that this thread has turned into a DD bashing forum.

I have had numerous dealings with Kieth over these threads and on the phone. He has been nothing but super helpful and friendly with me. Kieth has spent lots of time schooling the ignorant about injectors. He is one of the last vendors that comes on here. I understand that not everyone gets along with everyone. Some people can be hard to get along with. I work in Customer Service too. I understand both sides. I EXPECT excellent service. Prompt and available as needed. As far as knowledge about injectors, Come on, no one knows as much as Lawrence. JMHO. I have ran the crap out of all of my DD products. 426 hp is not the best on the TDR but it is pretty substantial. DD turbo, DDII's, UFM(comp)Drag. I would put their injectors in my 03 in a second. I just don't need/want 2 hot rods. My 03 pulls great. Add the EZ and it is even better. I would love to spend another 5 large to get my 03 to 500 hp. DD is the way to go guys. I know others will imitate but there is always a leader in the industry. DD injectors kick but... ...

I am not sponsored by anyone but my wife... :D

Jim, I understand your feelings and certainly as the customer, that is your right to take your business elsewhere. If that's what you feel is right for you, then you have to do it. My question to you is, you have been to our shop quite a few times... why not come back and let us get your truck 100% when you had these problems? I'm also quite suprised that both you and Alan (Walcott) got on the TDR at the same time (being that you guys are friends and all), and with your 2nd post, got on here to blast us.

One of the things that a lot of guys seem to do is blame problems on injectors right off the bat. It's understandable, as Bill mentions - you put in injectors and then you have problems, it must be the injectors right? Well, maybe not. Let's look at your overall configuration - (Bill, I'm gonna use your truck as example here, but just as a reference) PM3 Competition, HX-40 - all the parts to make big power with a set of Stage 3's. Is the fuel system up to the task? Pusher pump, big line kit... what's the fuel pressure like, does it do it without the box?

See, it's not just the injectors making things happen here, but when you put in a larger set, it makes anything else in the fuel delivery that might be a problem, more noticeable.

In any case, we warranty the injectors. We try to do all the basic troubleshooting before having you rip them out to send them in, but we do check them for people who have problems.

As they say, "if man makes it, it'll break" and we're not infallable. Just don't be offended if we're looking for the root of a problem that may not lie in the parts we supplied. If it does, we'll take care of it, if not, we still want you guys to end up with good running rigs, and will try to help you troubleshoot it until it runs as well as it should.

Catcracker, while injectors are not rocket science, there is a lot of R&D that (should) go into coming up with the combinations that work well and maximize the smoke to power ratio. We work on this quite a bit, and I can only hope for the customers' sake that others selling these are too. But, just don't think it's as easy as just running a set of nozzles through an extrude hone machine and it's automatically the same as what we sell. :)

kieth,

Point well taken and very true! Thanks for the response and how true it is. I think am thinking about some DD2's for my 03 when the price comes down some but i hope mine break so i can come back to Las Vegas:-laf

Keith I'm sure you don't remember the conversation and I am not trying to flame you or the product, remember I said I loved my injectors. I told you ALL the facts including fuel pressure, etc. Also I had no rough idle with the 275's and with rpm's above 1600 the rough idle disappeared. With a new set of injectors the problem disappeared. I am only trying to point out you don't need to treat someone who calls you with a problem like they are clueless.

Keith, The reason I didn'y bring the truck back in is because it would not run, when I talked to you about checking the injectors out you started giving me excuses. I never told you I thought the injectors where bad I just wanted to see if they were okay. After talking with you I decided you had already made up your mind that they were okay. The truck has been fixed and sold so there's nothing left to settle. I don't believe that I am blasting or ganging up on DD. I've said twice now that I believe that DD products are probably as good as anybody elses, I even said I thought Lawrence was as talented as anybody out there. My problem was the customer service and the statement I personally heard you and Mark say "We don't make bad injectors it must be something else". Like I said before I expect anything made by a human to have a flaw here or there. I expect once I start bombing my trucks that I am the responsible party that's why you have to choose carefully and live with your decision. I'm done with this subject. My 2 cents.

All right were going to have to settle this and I know how. K, just send everyone who posted on this thread a free set of injectors and we will all test em out and post unbiased results. Mine should be the DD3's. Its going to be a lot of trouble for me to do this testing but I figure other TDR members would do the same for me. :)

Jim, I wasn't aware you sold you truck. I still believe we could have got it running, but trying to trouble shoot everything over the phone can be a difficult and frustrating proposition for both us and the customer.

Krab, I wish it were that simple! :)
