Tail of the Dragon

I know JaMan's company- Austin Energy, as well as mine, City Public Service (CPS Energy) sent trucks out this morning to help out with all the trashed utilities... Are any of y'all's local crews getting dispatched to go?? Just trying to get an idea of how big an area they are pulling people from...

I know we got briefed yesterday on all available materials (poles, xfmrs, wire, etc. ) is heading that way from my coop (Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative) but I'm not sure if we're sending crews and trucks or not.

i know monday afternoon i seen an entire fleet of orange utility trucks going east on I-10... there saying katrina is the most devastating hurricane in US history. . my prayers go out to all the people affected by the hurricane.

PSEG from New Jersey, ConEd from New York, and United Illuminating from Connecticut have all sent trucks and repair personnel to the area.

Trying to let my boss let me head down that way. A good electrician is a good thing to have. Those "Line guys" just "turn it on" I'm the guy who makes it work inside the house :) Of course without the "Line Guys" I ain't got a pot to P**s in, much less making anything work. But best of luck to them on getting the major power restored! It looks like one H**l of a job to get that region up and running again. Hey! I'm Union and willing to help! 571-238-8056. Can drive down for fuel or escort any big trucks you need from VA to the area.

We (Allegheny Power) have sent 130 linemen and more than 260 tree trimmers that way. I've tried to volunteer but they won't send me cause I'm the only mechanic for my county. Our thoughts are with everyone down there... Doug

I want to go so so so so bad!!

I hate waiting on the state/gov to get thier act together.

SBC hasn't pulled any of us from So Cal. We have way too many other states to pull techs from that are much closer.

I have gotten so mad lately over the looters. I only wish I could do something more than send $.

My dad is a lineman in Southeastern Indiana for "Southeastern REMC". I know he is on "call" this week, (its not uncommon for him to get 40 hrs OVERTIME during a given week of call plus his regular 40 hours). He has gone to clean up multiple storms and things. I will call and ask him tomorrow to see if anyone from his company is going.

Hope things are at least getting better. I cant imagine being in that situation. .
