As I eat the homemade beans along with with homemade Mac N Cheese I brought for today's lunch I am pondering how many people still pack a lunch?? I pack lunch everyday...sandwiches, leftovers, etc...

Many employees here spend $10.00 or so on food for lunch everyday that I would not give my dog in good conscience....am I in the minority now??

When driving Penny made lunch for me everyday, Fast Food sucked even back then. Coffee in the good old Stanley Thermos, hot soup to go with my sandwich in the large mouth Stanley when going to the ski resorts to deliver fuel.

Office job here in Indy, I usually went to the De Bella Deli, Shapiro's Deli, Pantera bread, Portillos, Permanti bros
But then again Penny had retired and liked sleeping in, but set the Bunn coffeepot timer so I could have coffee on the way to work.

Of course the office work job came with Plastic to pay for such extravagance.

It seems in the last ten years or so I find it difficult to find decent fast food....and even the higher class of chain restaurants seem to be slipping...

Notable exceptions in our area are Wendy's and Longhorn, both seem to deliver quality food on a consistent basis...maybe that is a result of local ownership and management??

I try to bring lunch everyday. We plan group lunches out ahead of time, and those are infrequent.

My biggest issue is lack of leftovers... 3 growing kids will do that. We do try to cook enough daily so that everyone gets leftovers for lunch.

BN, I don't know about elsewhere but in Ohio the "White Castle" is referred to as sliders'...cause they slide right on through :(

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

FAST ACTING TOO!!! I was out late taking a report on an accident one of our drivers was involved in and it was the only thing open. At first I went in for coffee only, I hadn't ate since breakfast so how bad could it be?. Lafayette to Greencastle is about 60 miles Im sure the speed in which I passed farms it scared the livestock to death. It was early morning when I reached home I got out of the car and stood stiff-legged for what seemed like eternity, Penny holding the door open said HURRY UP THE COLD IS COMING IN!! Then Shut the damn door if I move ill have a MAJOR MAYDAY IN MY BRITCHES!!

SHE LAUGHED AT ME!! I was able to walk to the house like my ankles were tied together, she said make sure you take your shoes off!! YOU'VE GOT TO KIDDING

I definetly brought my own lunches but about 1 day/wk I'd go to the noodle shop near work and just get away from the office.

My favorite microwave meal was Corky's BBQ pulled pork. And living in Memphis for 3 L O N G yrs Corky's was a darn good local place. I even have one in freezer right now. They are good.

And for the White Castle newbies:

But I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with his findings, heck I didn't even watch him open the pkg.

I love White Castle! Ate 6 for lunch today! Never had the problem you described never, but I’ve heard others say the same as you.

I packed lunch almost every day, even now would prefer to eat at home than go out, but my wife of 45 years needs a night away from the stove.

Another question, who here packs their own lunch?

I’ve been married to my wife for 15 years, but we’ve been together for 24 years. We’ve never separated and we’ve lived together since the night of our first date. She wakes up with me every morning and packs my lunch. She also makes me a homemade breakfast sandwich and a mug of coffee. When I get home at night, there’s always hot food waiting. I’ve never asked her to do it, she just does.
