My dad bought a used 2007. 5 2500 a little over a year ago. He doesn't know much about the truck's history, but it was clearly modified by SRT (SRT stands for the Street Racing Technology division that builds the Dodge Viper from what I understand). It is painted in Dodge Viper blue everywhere (including the front and rear bumpers, grill, etc) and it has Cummins SRT-6 Turbo Diesel badges on the front and tailgate instead of the standard 2500 badges (I know people buy these badges to put on their trucks, but I think these were factory installed). When the dealer pulls up the VIN, it says that the truck has a 5. 7L Hemi, but it does not. It has the 6. 7L Cummins installed. The truck is still under warranty from Dodge and hasn't been modified from how it was sold to the best of our knowledge. There is no color code for the paint under a standard Ram 2500. It is Viper blue. Until he had to have the turbo replaced and the computer reflashed last year due to the turbo clogging up, my dad said that it would easily break the rear end loose and smoke the tires at any given point in time. I never had the pleasure of driving it before then, but now, with its new turbo and reflash, it behaves just like my '09 2500 diesel. No one seems to know anything about who built this truck or where exactly it came from including the dealer. Does anyone here happen to know anything about it?

What is the engine serial number? It should be on the white sticker on the valve cover behind the breather about # 5 cyl and be an 8 digit # starting with 57------ Shadrach

Very interesting ~ thats a great color and even the door knobs are painted.
Any chance we could get a better pic of the SRT-6 badges?

Looks like an ordinary Electric Blue Pearlcoat Sport RAM 2500 with painted door handles to me... ... I highly doubt that Dodge offered any SRT packages on a 2500 or 3500 SRW platform..... in my opinion. The leveling kit on the front coupled with apparently OEM-sized tires looks way out of place, too.

After reading your description again, I definately agree with the post above. This is an Electric Blue Pearlcoat truck, that was ordered with the Sport edition (meaning painted bumpers/grill/etc). If the badges match the ones in my earlier post, they are most definately not factory. These are custom made by a guy named Steve.

If the truck was able to easily spin the tires before the turbo was replaced and the computer re-flashed, leads me to believe that ECM had been reflashed at some point with a downloader (PPE, Smarty, Bully Dog, Scary Larry, etc). When the dealer re-flashed the ECM, a stock OEM calibration was put back on... thus the evident loss of power.

Does the truck have the SRT seats?

Does the truck have the push button start on the dash?

You can email the Dodge customer service center with the last 10 digits of the VIN, and they can give you the original build sheet of the vehicle.

It is a pretty truck though!

There was never a SRT-6 built. The badges started out with a guy trying to source them. He posted up on CumminsForum and Dodgeforums.

If anyone has purchased the badge and put it on your truck, to each his own I guess. Personally I think it is posing. Just like all the ricers putting V-Tec on their non V-Tec cars.
