Where to buy connector?

somewhat amusing

I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of mine. It's supposed to be here in the next couple weeks. I think the brand is A-Maize-Ing Heat. I was hoping to not have to buy any LPG this winter, but I didn't have the cash to buy one when I should have. I guess I got it ordered soon enough, because new orders are 26 weeks out, last I heard.

Anyway, the few people I know that have one, love it. Anybody have any bad experiences? Or good. I'd like to hear a little more about them.

The girlfriend's dad installed one in his house a couple months ago. The brand name escapes me at the moment.

Anyways, it works great but be wary of getting dirty corn--the pieces of husk & dust can fall down through the mesh & put the burner out... ... at least on his model it happens.

I can ask him how it's working overall and get back to you.

When I was a pup, my Grandparents on their Nebraska farm had a "central" corncob fired furnace. I know it's not quite the same. Anyway, they had rooms in the basement, kind of like a coal room, they would load up with shelled corn cobs left over after combining. Then they would shovel the cobs into the firebox with a grain scoop as needed.

The firebox had a hood setup with duct work to move the heat to the rooms. The upstairs had the grates to let the warm air up to the second floor - plus plenty of quilts on the beds. :-laf

Are we related? Guess there must be alot of them furnaces back in Nebraska. My aunt and uncle had one just like you describe. Used to be great fun as a kid to be able to go into the warm basement and play on the pile of cobs. :D Made a heck of a dust mess though.
