i am running 37'' tires now but still have the factory gears 3. 54. what do i need to changeto, also who has best prices? thanks

Check this guy out - Ivan Hinkle at 4sight 518-736-2030. Tell him Gus sent you. Great guy to deal with and he really knows his stuff. Hope this helps.

Sick Boy - I've been searching and having a heck of a time trying to even figure a name of a company other than Richmond Gear - Dana yeilds squat. Come on guys give up some names. Sick Boy's running an effective ratio of like 3. 02 and killing his trans. We've figured to get him to around an effective 3. 89:1 ratio, he'll need 4. 56:1 ring & pinion.

Anyone ever did more than a 4:11? will the D60 up front and D70 in the back fit 56's???

Thanks

You can run a ring gear spacer on the d60 up front. I don't know if they make thick gears for the 70. IF they did you could run 4:56 without having to buy a new carrier.

For a 37 I'd run 4. 56 or 4. 88. Do a google search for gear ratio calculator and you'll be able to run the numbers to see what your cruising RPMs are.

I put 4. 10s in my truck from 3. 55s. With 35s I do just over 70mph at 2000rpm. Pretty much what 3. 55s and stock tires would put me.

Randy's Ring and Pinion is who I got my stuff from, both in the Jeep and the truck. I'm pleased with the Yukon brand gears. Setup nice and good quality.

Keep in mind cheap gears aren't going to give you good results... such as Genuine Gear, or Gen-u-whine as most people call them because they are LOUD!

gears

Lots of people would like to get teh 3. 54 gears. not sure how the dana 70 is set up. I have a dana 80 with 4. 10. my carrier will do 4. 10 and higher. those with a dana 80 and 3. 54 can do up to 4. 10.

I wish I could find a guy in the west who wanted to switch his 3. 54 Dana 80 SRW with my 4. 10.

Might be cheaper to swap rear ends than to change out gears.
