Competition Who has broken a Billet input ?????

from what i hear the older (about 2 years old) IE billet input shafts are breaking ... . i am hearing the Sonnax shafts or a lot stronger



i know of about 2-3 people... . just wondering who else

I have heard from some who have checked his shafts before install and find them bent or not true.



I have an IE output shaft. When I talked to Opie about his shafts he likes to see them run with laminate flex plates. says he will not warranty a broken shaft used with a billet flex. Claims the only inputs he has seen broke were run with billet flex.



Probably due to the lack of give in the billet plates. Maybe his new ones are better. He claimes to use a different process now.

I think Dave Goerend has about 3 or 4 broken billet shafts laying out for display. I believe he said one belonged to Jim Layden.

4-5 out of a few thousand is not bad at all... . i heard it was a lot more... . i see i was lied too

I broke the hub on a billet shaft along with twisting the splines about a 1/4 spline on that same shaft.

I think All who have broken billet shafts that have posted here need to state what brand of Billet shaft has been broken. I think there has been a spin off of the original post of IE "Intelligent engineering" Shafts only, To billet shafts in general. I could be wrong.

Opie said he will not warranty a broken shaft if it was run with a Billet Flex plate. He is a pusher of the laminate flex plates.
