Competition Who has broken a Billet input ?????

I know someone who broke an IE shaft. IE denied the warranty.

IE input shaft broke by a 400hp truck with single disc TC and stock flex plate. Shipped it to OPIE and he told me it was cooked wrong and he would cover it. So two days later it's over 2yrs old no warranty!! Bad thing is it was a bad shaft to start with so if your looking to buy a IE shaft you better put your power to it before the 2yrs.



I think the big boys are going with the Sonnax 1 pc.

The splines kind of look slightly twisted in the pic. My eyes started getting blury looking that close at the monitor.

No there not just a clean brake. . He told it was cook wrong? But looks like OPIS is going to keep the broke input?? Not returning e-mails I wanted to get this one back to put in my show room to show customers.

I have personally broke 3 IE shafts in my own drag truck . Twisted last two two in two passes with a reactor flexplate. Customer trucks I have 4 broken also have 2 intermediates.

Are you continuing to use them? Or going another route?

I stopped after I broke two in two passes. Dtt went a different route for shafts . I havent had no issues or even a twisted spline since they changed in 2006

I just popped my first input shaft a month ago. DTT put it in around 03. No problems with it until now. Took out a stock flex plate a year ago and the output shaft 3 years ago. My 89% DTT TC lasted from 03 until now also. I think it was still OK but it was so contaminated I picked up a Triple-Disk from DTT now, man it hooks hard! I think that is what popped the input shaft. Went with a one piece Sonnax from DTT. Got to thank Olee @ Power by Poole and John @ Chips Transmissions for the rebuilds.



Still on the stock U-joints lol. Wonder what type I should keep in the toolbox?
