Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Who has done the mirror swap, i am having troubles

Studs are really long and of course not enough thread for the nut to go up to the door, looks there needs to be some kind of spacer or something.

If your installing the tow mirrors, are you using the reinforcment plates that come in the kit?

The studs are that long to allow you to use the plates that go on the inside panel of the door.

I have no reinforcing plates obviously, I wonder if I can get these seperate at the dealer?
