WITH AIRAID YOU GET 'SYNTHAFLOW'

http://airaid.com/see.asp

FILTRATION MEDIA, CLAIMING 99. 997% OF PARTICLES GREATER THAN 10 MICRONS. PART OF THE INTAKE SYSTEM IS A MODULAR. INTAKE. TUBE.

A. F. E. WITH PROGARD 7 TECHNOLOGY OFFERS 7 LAYERS ON FILTRATION MEDIA AS OPPOSED TO AIRAIDS 5 LAYERS. http://www.afefilters.com/7wp.htm

THEY OFFER THE ATTRACTIVE 'TORQUE' TUBE FOR USE WITH THEIR SYSTEM. NOTHING MORE THAT HIGH DOLLAR MANDREL BENT TUBING, BUT INCREASES AIRFLOW AND WAKES UP TURBO WHISTLE.

SCOTTY RAM-AIR 3 SOUNDS GOOD ON PAPER, FOR MAXIMUM ENGINE LIFE. DUAL STAGE FOAM, 'FULL DEPTH FILTRATION', AND 3 TIMES THE SURFACE AREA COMPARED TO STOCK.

MY DEFINITION OF BEST WOULD BE INCREASING AIRFLOW AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO COOL A CHIPPED CUMMINS (TOWING OR PERFORMANCE) WHILE FILTERING THE BEST (SMALLEST AND MOST).

Air Filter

Hey guy's here is a box that I make. I made this one for a guy who likes orange. Kinda a different color, but what ever floats your boat. The filter is a K&N 9" long and 7" DIA. PM for more info.

Just put on a proguard 7, took the silencer ring out and removed inlet tube baffles and sweet music to my ears :)

If anyone is interested, I only have

2 AFE proguard 7 kits left (new in the box). They each come

WITH prefilter

AND cleaning kit

AND free shipping in the lower 48

for $320 each

I have the AirAid simply because it was recommended with the Ram Air Hood I put on. I am impressed with the AirAid, as far as filtering, surface of filter, and the amount of air it supports without pulling the filter minder down. I'm not saying it's the best out there, because I think there are better. However for my application with the Ram Air and for about $215, it works great!

Ok Bob, what is that sticking out of your hood? How about acouple more pics from a little further back and from under the hood. Please elaborate.

Mike.

I assume you are talking to Bob Wagner, if so, it is a "Shaker Hood/intake" with the air intake on the back side, similar to a Cowl hood. I understand that Scotty is just putting the finishing touches on this new intake.

I have enough trouble judging this front end as it is. I'm not looking forward to plowing this winter. Looks cool though.

Might want to install a couple of fiberglass antennas on the front sides of the snowplow. Just a thought.

I like my SRA3. I don't know if they come like this from Scotty but it has an AFE filter, I bought it used off eBay. It has a little more turbo song than stock but spools up alot quicker than stock.

We all have a different definition of "best". After reading this test report I'm now of the opinion that BHAF or the plain old stocker is the "best" for me. :)
