I bought my wife a new MegaCab Diesel 4X4 the other night. It needs a leveling kit really bad. My question is who makes the best one? I know some kits move the axle back. Is there a kit out there that comes with longer control arms to keep the axle in the correct spot? Good or bad lets hear some of your thoughts and links. Thanks in advance.

Yes there are many. Some use spacers, some use springs, and some still use springs and control arms. It really depends on what your intentions for your truck are. For looks, haulind, towing, pulling, racing, etc. Looks only, go simple and get a spacer. Functional, get a spring or spring/control arm kit. I went KORE HD Leveling kit for function. I added a heavy front bumper and move my spare to the front receiver when I haul my camper to better distribute the weight. KORE has a great reputation on this site and had many positive comments from owners. It's been installed for two weeks now. Not too difficult on the installation scale either. I'm very satisfied. Function and ride are both very good. There are other companies that make a similar product: Skyjacker, Fabtech, Rancho, Superlift to name a few. Just remember: you get what you pay for.

Hope this helps, BF

Five days after the install I took it to the alignment rack. The geometry was off a bit but aligned without difficulty. The front was raised about two inches. The axel appears to be in the approximate same place. I'm sure it moved a very small amount. I just don't know exactly how much. Perhaps just a small fraction of an inch.

Bought mine from Gred at DRC. Got here in a timely manor. Good dude to deal with.

I like the spacers Tuff Country has. I installed them on a 2500 about a month ago. They are thick steel. Was about $200.

I have Daystar spacers on my truck, previous owner installed.

I got the KORE Chase Series. It's great. Easy to install, rides nice, looks good, and so forth. Sad part is, I haven't really put it to the test for the reason it's superior to all the rest. Maybe when I get the truck back from Mass Diesel I'll feel more free to beat on the truck and find out. :D

I ordered 2" spacers from topguncustomz.com yesterday... . I have a buddy that got 3" spacers from them for his 3500 and I got 2" spacers for the F-150 I had. I was happy with them. They were easy to install (the 2" -- the 3" took a little more work). For an '06 2500 2" were $65 ($80 w/ shipping).

It'll be enough to get me by through my first set of tires. I'll upgrade it when I wear the first set out ;).

I have to agree that you can't beat TopGun Cuztoms for price. Thier product works great to. I have had a set of thier 2" spacers on the front of my '03 for over 170,000 miles and they haven't given me any problems.

I called KORE today. Think I'll go that way when I can. Really diggin the Chase series for her. Maybe after these 33" go. Do the Chase and go to 35"s. In the meantime. $65 sounds good to keep it from rubbing the 33"s. Not sure of the offest on the wheels right now, but it's a rubbing.

Keep the suggestions coming. And thanks for the tips so far.

I have a friend that has a Race Series Kore. I love the ride. You can run on a dirt road and it feels like a highway - but in turn, I can't afford what he spent right now. Does anyone know how much the Recon series runs? I'm going to stick with the 2" spacers for now, but I'd like to have a number to jumble in my head ;)

I've read a ton of threads regarding leveling, I'm looking seriously at the KORE HD Leveling Kit. Thy have a solid reputation and lots of satisfied customers. I have to decide if I just want leveling or go a little further, like the Chase kit. I guess I'll make up my mind in the next week or so, and just do it!

Hi Guys,

The KORE HD Leveling kit is not just a leveling kit. With a leveling kit you get,KORE Proprietary HD progressive coil springs, KORE Billet Drop Blocks, HD Bumpstops, and Bilstein 5100 series shocks. It is a complete suspension replacement for the front of your truck. The truck handles much better and the ride more supple. With over 2 inches of lift, it offers a level ride and increased performance over stock. Feel free to call if you have any questions,

Greg DRC
