I want to get my transfer case lever to quit buzzing all the time. A while back, someone said that there is a fix you can buy in the form of a kit from the dealer. Apparently, it's just a spacer.

It's only like 2 bucks from the dealer, or so I heard, but I bet it would be half that to fix it myself.

So what exactly does the kit consist of?

buzzing fix

:) Hey fellas, some time back a fella came up with an easy fix and I use it daily. Put a new roll of duct tape on the lever and it will stop buzzing, plus if you need it, it is there. Costs a little more than 2 buck, though. It just hangs there on the hump. Tim

I had a terrible buzz from mine, along with being severely difficult to shift, using an adaptor for my NV4500 transmission. I finally made a bracket that goes from the top forward case bolts down to the shifter and welded it onto the stock shifter. No more buzzing and shifts way easier now.

There is a nylon "U" shaped washer about 1 1/4" long that fits over the edge of one of the shifter "gate" plates. Look real close and you'll see it. This 'washer' allows the shifter lever plate to rest against it and prevent the rattle.

The are dirt cheap at a dealer. You just may need to dig a bit for the part number.

I'll try to ask my brother about this since he just did his a while back. If he can find the invoice, I'll post the part number.

Bob.
