Just wondering how the drivability is with twins and little to no mods?

I know... why would anyone do that, I am curious how the truck would perform with the popular fueling box turned off, or do you have to run the added fuel along with them for around town & cruise part throttle stuff?

Also with just twins and the box off about what kind of power increase is there if any?

my truck has stock injectors and with tst box off you would think the truck has stock turbo. just feels slow like stock, compared to power level 7 :-laf .

but you can tow, drive like normal it's all good.

I have driven around almost all winter on stock power. I just hate to beat on it until the engine gets to full operating temp..... which unfortunately doesn't happen very often this time of year. Stock power and twins are fine. Just a little lag which is not bothersome at all. Besides, the slower they spool, the longer you get to listen to the awesome spool-up sound.

Thanks for the info, I was just wondering if they are overkill for box off driving.

Seems like a good idea though for towing. Do they have to be noisy?

Twins probably require some time of big open element which is going to generate noise.

I think that the b1 as a single made more noise than as secondary in twins!

My B1-04 didn't make near the noise as these twins do spooling up and my B1 was pretty loud. I ended up installing a TAG III with the B1 just for it's built in silencer ring. It made the B1 as quiet as stock. I guess you could add 2 TAG IIIs for twins, one on each turbo, and you would never guess twins were under the hood. Talk about a sleeper truck! Thought about it myself as I don't care for a lot of noise any more. Getting older taking it's toll.....

You will want something that does boost fooling in the off position or your engine light will stay on constantly. I can almost get 40lbs on stock power with my little SO engine. I have a VA that fools boost when turned off. Works out great.

Why? Too much air being provided for the amount of fuel delivered?

Does this hold true for HO's?

Is it currently possible to have an exhaust brake with twins?

A well build daily driver twin setup will make more max boost than a stock charger at stock fueling levels. It will throw and overboost code if you don't run a fooler with it. This holds true for most all trucks.

There are many people using exhaust brakes with twins. I've seen one setup that used a direct-mount brake between the chargers but most use and inline, either 4" or 5" in the pipe under the truck. The direct mount was a very custom job.

Negative. Both VAs, the C3. 1 pressure box and the C3. 2 duration box, fool boost in the off position. I have never run the C3. 1 so I can't verify that one, but I am told they both do the same.

My SO registers an over boost code and sets the dash light at 29. 5 lbs of boost without something doing fooling. I don't notice any defueling as a result of it, although it would be hard to tell with the SO being a slug on stock power anyway. Non-the-less, constant codes and dash lights will get irritating.

The VA 3. 1 does still do boost fooling when off. Duck, I run the Pac-Brake PRXB 5 inch inline on my setup.

You need to come by sometime, like soon. Depending on the size of the top turbo, it can feel almost like stock on spool-up, but with the added benefit of the big charger to help keep EGT's in check.

custom, but oh so sweet.

Didn't know that about the VA. I have the C3. 1 and thought off didn't do anything. I wonder if its doing anything else as a result of the fooling?? If the ECM sees lower boost it may be making other changes also.

What about Air Filtration with twins. . so far the ones I have seen all use an oiled filter down low, are there other set ups?
