For those that do, what pressures work best? I just got a new set of 285's, and I have to tell you I'm not impressed with the handling of these tires... .coming from BFG KO's (which by the way wore horribly) I thought the Toyo's would do everything better, but instead they seem "squirly" and jerk my truck around on the freeway while going through water. I have them set at 75 psi front/ 70 rear. I thought about letting some air out, but will they be more squirly? What are your opinions on these tires?

I'll get labeled as a nut, but... .

I've got 17K on my M-55 285's, running 40 front and 35 rear. Truck weighs 7K... never tow and always run empty.

Rotating every 5K and the wear pattern is perfect. Handling is excellent.

I ran 3 sets of Toyo Open Country 285's and couldn't get 35K out of them. Wear pattern always uneven... . overinflated. So, I worked my way down to the 40/35, and this seems best, in spite of flying in the face of conventional wisdom.

I could virtually repeat what 24V-DSL said word for word, other than I run my 55's just slightly higher in air pressure. But I think I'll air them down a bit more like his. Also, I wore my Open County's out in about 25K miles.

My 55's run great. I've siped mine for cooler summer running and better winter traction. Also, I run 4oz of balancing beads in each of mine, which work great.
