I have slept on a water bed for 30yrs. I see the info mercial about the different matresses, air foam. So I started looking into the different matersses. I have two friends that have air matresses. I tried one and it was not what I expected. I tried a latex matress and man was that comphy. BUT ity was $2000. 00 bucks. I looked and looked, and nothing suited me. I went to a local water bed dealer and talked water beds. These beds have come a long way baby! The matress the local dealer had I did not like it and the price was too high. So I got on line and found a waveless matress that has the foam for lumbar support, comes with conditioner, liner, fill and drain kit for much less than I could buy locally. It should be here tomorrow, and over the weekend I will drain the old and fill the new. ;)

Flotation,flotation, flotation!

A waveless is the way to go, chambered or whatever the new rage is. Our mattress is about 6-7 years old, probably neater things out there now. The air beds do not impress me. Used one for a week (housesitting) did not care for it. I like the warm bed, & then there are the recreational benefits!:D Don.

I've used waterbeds for the last 20 years, and have no plans to go back to a convention matress. Water beds have come along way over the years, but I still love my "just like sleeping on a small boat" style matress. Not even a hint of waveless in it, almost like laying on an air-matress floating on a lake, nothing like it.

I never understood the medical reasons they say contribute to back aches, injuries, or whatever. All I know is that if I wrench my back during the day for whatever reason, after sleeping in a waterbed, the next morning I feel like a million bucks!

All the while all my clothes stay toasty warm in the drawers below. The only downside to a waterbed is this, I have a real tough time getting out of it, it's just waaaay to comfortable to leave. :)

I miss my soft side H20 bed. I dumped the waveless and got a big open bag. My only mistake was buying a kingsize to allow room for recreation without realizing I wouldn't always have a huge bedroom.

I miss the warm bed at night. I miss turning up the heat a couple degrees to cook out the cold or flu symptoms. I miss a lot of things... . <sigh>

the wife and i just ordered a new tempur-pedic bed tonight after sleeping on a full motion water bed for the last 7 years(actually i have had it for alot longer then that). We decided it was time for a change. I don't dislike the water bed but the wife has a hard time sleeping and says it is getting harder and harder to get comfy on the WB. I hope the Tempur-pedic is all it is cracked up to be.

21 years on the same waterbed here..... is that a record? My parents bought it for me when I was 2! I love it, and would never be without it!

My waterbed is over 20 years old now. Even the heater is original and works great. One thing I've learned is to make sure you at least throw the comforter over the mattress before leaving in the morning. It helps hold the heat in during the day, keeping down the electric bill.

Might be time to look at upgrading to one of the newer waterbeds with baffles in them. I guess the vinyl will give out sooner or later.

I loved my WB but the wife said when we got married she wanted a new "real" bed so we bought a Simmons. First winter without the WB I am freezing my a$$ off!!! I was so used to just a light blanket now I have a comfortor and an electric blanket and still if you move in the middle of the night you find a cold spot brrrr. Some days you just hope to be kickked out of bed so you cna go to spare room and sleep on the warm WB. ;)

I had two beds the first was semi waveless and the vinyl actually dried out and cracked and I almost fell in three cracks about 3 foot long right under my shoulders; talk about wet. The new one seems to be a better softer material but they also sold/gave me some matteress conditioner that you spray on the bed when you change sheets; something about body oils dry the vinyl out. The new one they called a mud materess and you can push your hand in and watch the indentation take like 2-3 secs to fill back in. Kinda nice cause when one person got in or out of bed the whole bed did not wave waking the other up.
