2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Who Still Makes Headlight Relay Harnesses

I'm looking at finally getting around to doing the factory to sport headlight conversion, but also would like to makes sure they headlight ares relayed. Is anyone still making a harness for this?

1. Needs to have both left and right headlight sets relayed.
2. Only has high beams on when high beams are selected.
3. Only runs one low beam per side when low beams are selected.


If not who had a complete parts list and schematic for wiring one up?

he did make a kit called rik ram in the product section that is all the parts but he will or at least would build it as well (for an additional charge of course). He did one for me several years ago and it is very nice heavy duty etc works great

I just finished the Sport Headlight Conversion in my 96 3500. Wow! What a difference! I ordered the harness from www.danielsternlighting.com . His customer service was outstanding!

Member fire fighter 2000 used to make great harnesses. Unfortunately he no longer makes them. How ever, if you want to make your own, I'm sure he'll provide you with a complete parts list and instructions.

I purchased the harness from Daniel Stern last November. Very responsive via email and he will sell you the harness or instructions on how to build one. Because I am anal and had heard good and bad about aftermarket headlamp assemblies, I wanted the OEM units. I located a left and right side (I thought) at different places, but the dealer that had the driver's side had incorrect inventory and I only have an OEM right side. I think there are 5 of these in the country and no more left side assemblies. I went to the local boneyards and available left assemblies are pitiful. If anyone knows where I can find a new or decent used OEM left assembly, I'd appreciate the information. Otherwise, I will likely have to get an aftermarket unit. Advice on which of these is decent would be appreciated as well. My fear is that the aftermarket unit will have different materials or geometry in the reflector and the headlights will not appear "matched" to oncoming traffic. Thanks for any help, steve whalen

I had no issues with them. Got them off amazon don't remember who the seller was though. Never got flashed, never felt there was a difference from one side to the other and fit was fine. I wanted to go oem but at the time they wanted well over $300 per side. The ones I bought from amazon were 140 for the pair. Am thinking they were from DEPO I figured as long as they were better than what I had I would be ok and I was. Were they as nice as the oem quality wise probably not but they did work just fine for well over 100k before I sold it and they are still working today.

I purchased the Dorman aftermarket Sport Headlights from Amazon via the links Daniel Stern sent. Since OEM units are nearly non existent, these were the ones Daniel Stern recommended. I'm very pleased with them...

Here's another thought if you don't want to risk quality from Amazon or Ebay.....I checked one of the local auto parts suppliers and they had "Certified" replacement headlight assemblies and aftermarket. The "Certified" assemblies were good enough to satisfy insurance companies and body shops.....the aftermarkets were cheaper.....I hope that helps someone who's sitting on the fence wanting to do this on their truck. I wish I had done it sooner. It's literally a night and day difference versus the original single headlight assemblies...

One of the best bombs that I have done on my 98. Lights are brighter than the my 06 which has the bright box. This is when the trucks are setting side by side too.

It really is a great set-up! I have a 2009 Jeep Commander with HID headlights and I think they are some of the best headlights I've seen. The Sport conversion runs a very close second to my Commander's headlights.

I got my sport headlamps and relay harness' @ LMC Truck. My truck had stock single lamp headlamps with the factory fog lamps. The new sport lamps of course two lamps per headlamp and needed to buy 2 different relay harness' so everything works.
