I changed the fuel filter last night and it was clean, engine will start if I pull it and pop the clutch but will not idle and misses a little throughout the rpm band.

There was a posting on the 2g about the VP @ 750$ from a place in TX. They supply the dealers, or so its said, and sounds like you may want to keep this in mind.

PS: got another person with a "new" 99 wonton and he has low power when pulling + a leak from the booster in the cab. Its an auto and hope its only the lp and not the vp + the booster. We havent been able to get-2-gether on working on it yet. But if any ideas - PM me with them.
 
Worse than ever today. It's a tough call. IF I let it cool down and discon and reconnect the apps it'l run strong ... ... for a lil while.



if it's the apps it would cut out at a certain pedal position right? When the engine shuts off and the motor is coasting because I am in lockup I can smash the pedal to the floor or even flutter it inbetween and the truck just sputters and surges. If I go to ZERO with the pedal for a sec and gradually squeeze it on I can somewhat maintain speed.

Anyhows, to answer TMTT's msg to me and also give the info out, the site is: www.cumminsstuff.com for the VP and other parts. This info I got from one of the other forums. It is in Granbury, TX (Barry can probably ck it out if we have any problems with them) and according to the other thread, the VP is 750$ with a 250 core charge.



TMTT can tell us if its changed or any other info he gathers. Got a "possible" problem with a 99 that a person I just met has and it "sounds like" a LP but it could develop into the VP, so will keep eye on this info.
